Statement from our President
Human rights are a moral principle and norms that describe certain standards of human behavior and are protected as natural and legal rights in municipal and international law. As a collective society we the people are charged with, and must rise up, speak out and take a stand against, institutional racism, the unjust laws, policies, inequality, and oppressive radical policing practices that have plagued indigenous and minority black and brown communities of all races and creed for decades.
Systemic discrimination through employment, education, housing, and healthcare must not be allowed to continue to manifest as an ongoing normal reality to those affected by the cancer of racism. Our governments must be held accountable to its citizens by the power of the people through political engagement. The political election vote of a citizen is the singular most empowering tool we the people have in which collectively we can create the change necessary to rewrite the status quo of inequality in our lifetime.
"Freedom is never given by the oppressor; It must be demanded by the oppressed" - Martin Luther King Jr.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy" - Martin Luther King Jr.
